Ski Season...

So...After my holiday attempting to Ski i feel it necessary to comment on some of the fashions noted whilst away, here's my top tips for having a successfully stylish time on the slopes...

1. Make sure you have some well fitted pants, don't go for the safe big and baggy. Fitted trousers are by far going to look better on you, no matter your size. I don't recommend white for a coloured trouser its not only impractical, imagine if you fell over, and your bum can look big. My advice is to start with your buying your trousers and build your outfit from there.
Trousers shown are Stella McCartney on left in sale for £120 and on right Sweaty Betty snug pant £160

2. Jackets...so much choice! If you have the money, go for a belted style, Stella McCartney does some stylish options and a brand i think are hot is E + O. For a cheap alternative hunt through your local TKMaxx or keep an eye online for sales after Christmas.

3. Goggles and glasses: Now if its sunny it is perfectly acceptable to wear big shades, although either designer or specific sports/activity glasses are advisable as they have higher UVA/B/C ratings, ultimatly a Polycarbonate lens would be ideal as it is both lightweight and impact resistant, although if the weather may snow or looks dull, i would advice goggles. These can be any shade and i would defiantly recommend you fit these on in a shop as opposed to buying online so you know they fit the face.

4. Gloves: Some don't like Mitts for skiing and prefer fingered gloves although i must say i have Mitts and think they are excellent. Once you have chosen your type then you can choose your design, i recommend a dark colour and Barts have some sensational ones!

Mitts shown are from http://www.sweatybetty.com/ £45
5. Accessories: Now we have the slopes covered, i just have a couple more ideas to make your holiday even more chic. For the lazy afternoons and casual evenings, i like North Face, Nuptse and Nuptse Fur boot with options in knee high or ankle, Other recommendations include, oversized knits from £20 Zara, wolly hats, and guilets from Jack Wills or Joules have some nice ones. For tasteful socks and accessories i like lionsrampant.com.

Boots shown are North face, Nuptse Fur II £79.99

Cape shown Sweaty Betty, £250
One more thing i will comment on and thats high shine ski wear in which i was made aware existed whist away...all in moderation! and for snowboarders the only company i can recomend is Burton.
